Despite spending one-third of our lives in bed, many of us do not ask questions when buying a new mattress due to feeling overwhelmed by the range available. At Land of Beds, we believe arming customers with information will help them to make the right choice for their sleep needs and budget. In addition, it helps us to achieve our mission of ‘helping as many people as possible to sleep better.’ A single sized mattress is 90cm x 190cm (3ft x 6ft), making them a perfect choice for smaller sized rooms, guest rooms and children’s rooms in addition to single sleepers looking for a bed with smaller dimensions. Contrary to widespread belief, manufacturers produce single mattresses to the same standard as larger-sized mattresses, making them suitable for both children and adults.
While a single mattress is often considered a cost-effective choice, it doesn't equate to compromising on comfort. Our single mattress size 90 x 190 cm mattresses adhere to the same high standards as their larger counterparts. We have a variety of fillings and comfort grades, guaranteeing you'll discover the perfect single mattress in our collection. Whether you prioritise affordability or desire specific fillings for enhanced comfort, our selection caters to your preferences and includes various mattress firmness options.

Yes, combining two will give you the same width as a super king, although the super king is a bit longer. (Two singles combined together make 90 x 190cm / 3'0" x 6'3". A super king measures 180 x 200cm / 6'0" x 6'6.)
Who are single beds best for?
Being an excellent investment choice for children, solo sleepers, and guests, single mattresses are typically chosen for children who do not need a large bed, bedrooms where floor space is compromised and guest rooms. Solo adult sleepers can sleep in a single bed; however, this is the smallest size we would recommend. We recommend sleepers measuring more than 5ft 11” (180cm) consider larger beds measuring 200cm (6ft 6”) in length. They are not suitable for two people sharing a bed. Instead, a small double or larger is needed.

Is it OK to buy a cheap single mattress?
Buying a cheap mattress can be a reasonable choice if it meets your specific needs and expectations. However, there are a few things to consider: Quality: While you can find affordable mattresses that provide good value for the price, extremely cheap mattresses might sacrifice quality, comfort, and durability. It's important to find a balance between the price and quality. Comfort: Your mattress plays a significant role in your sleep quality and overall health. A mattress that is too cheap may not provide the support and comfort you need, potentially leading to poor sleep and discomfort. Durability: Cheaper products may wear out more quickly, requiring you to replace them sooner. Over time, the cost of replacing multiple cheap mattresses may exceed the cost of investing in a higher-quality, more durable one. Health Considerations: If you have specific health needs, such as back problems, it may be worth investing in a mattress that provides the necessary support and comfort, even if it costs a bit more. Ultimately, your choice should be based on your budget, comfort preferences, and specific requirements. At Land of Beds, we have a wide range that offer a good balance between price and quality. Don't forget to consider factors like mattress type, firmness, and materials to ensure it suits your individual needs for a good night's sleep.
